Jules Wainstein's husband filed for divorce earlier this week and according to the Real Housewives of New York City star's rep, infidelity was involved.

Following the shocking news of the Wainstein's split after eight years of marriage, the reality star's rep spoke out.

"Jules and her husband have split over his infidelity," the rep told PEOPLE Magazine on Thursday. "In last night's episode there were signs."

"Jules is doing great despite the news. She is taking care of her children and working hard on her brand, Modern Alkeme. She is a survivor and has many people around her for support," the rep added.

One day prior, Wainstein's co-star, Ramona Singer, weighed in on the split.

“I know she’s heartbroken, and I think it’s really sad,” Singer told Us Weekly on Wednesday. “I mean, listen, let’s face it: Half the marriages [on Real Housewives] do end in divorce, and they end in divorce for a lot of assorted reasons.”

“I think it’s a really sad thing that it becomes public. I mean, something like this, you want to keep private,” Singer continued. “You want to protect your children and it’s just hard enough to deal with without it being all over the media... I really believe that in life, one grows from the hardships, and this is definitely a major hardship, but I think she’ll grow from it and be stronger for it, and I respect her a lot and I think she’s more resilient than she knows.”

Also on Thursday, the Daily Mail revealed police had swarmed the home of Wainstein and her husband and on the way out, an officer was seen carrying a written statement with the words, "threatening me... going to ruin my life."

"He's volatile," a friend said of Michael after the police were called, revealing that he had been involved in an affair with a good friend of Wainstein's. "You do the math. He was texting her back in January."

During last night's episode of The Real Housewives of New York City, Wainstein was seen voicing her concerns about her husband after he came home late and spent the majority of his evening on his phone. Wainstein also spoke about how little her husband had been doing for their kids, Rio and Jagger.

"Don’t ever think that marriage is always going to be 50/50. Sometimes it’s 70/30 or 80/20," she said during dinner with friends. "Even if we're on a date night, he's on the phone - who the f*** is he talking to?"
