Flashpoint is the buzzword in the DC TV universe this week, but the season 3 premiere title isn't the only tantalizing Flash tidbit actor Grant Gustin tweeted this week.

The series' lead confirmed Barry's journey into the world of Geoff John's 2011 story on Monday, handily sending fans into a frenzy. Over the weekend, however, Gustin also revealed the return of Star Wars' Mark Hamill as the Trickster.

"Happy Father's Day, Mark! See you this season!" Gustin tweeted on Sunday.

Well, we can't say we're surprised to see the menacing rogue make a return to Central City. He's cunning, dastardly, and hell-bent on destruction purely for the sake of chaos; the trickster is a DC villain trough and trough, and his yearly appearances have become highly anticipated by Flash fans.

We are wondering, however, where the licorice-loving baddie will fit in when the series rolls out a new timeline this fall. Season 1 saw the menace defeated by combination of Barry's heroics and Harrison Wells' Speed Force lessons. When the Weather Wizard staged an Iron Heights prison break for the Trickster last Christmas, both parties were felled by STAR Labs' quick thinking. What exactly has Hamill's character been up to if the Flash never existed? What's more, how will Barry stop any of his foes if he enters season 3 without his powers, a la Flashpoint? Barry's desire to save his mother could put Central City in grave danger.

These are the questions fans will have another three months to ponder. The Flash will return to The CW on Oct. 4 at 8 p.m. ET. Click the video below to see the Trickster in action.
