It looks like Julia Roberts isn't the big box office star she used to be. In fact, it looks like fans will be seeing more of her on the small screen than the big screen, as Roberts is rumored to be headed to TV for a new series.

According to Radar Online this week, Roberts, who was once considered Hollywood's sweetheart, is looking to take on the new season of American Crime Story about the Hurricane Katrina crisis from 2005.

One source close to the situation dished, "Julia is seriously attracted to this role, which would see her cast as former Louisiana governor Kathleen Blanco. Ryan [Murphy] is keen to offer a bold new take on the tragedy, and he can't think of anyone better than Julia to do it."

The tipster added, "He's been wooing her for a very long time, telling her it's the perfect opportunity for her to do some impactful TV."

So far Roberts herself has not made any comments about the report, although insiders say that she and Murphy are working out the financial terms to their contract. Her last two films, Mother's Day, (starring Jennifer Aniston) and Money Monster (which also starred George Clooney) did not do particularly well at the box office are were mostly panned by critics.
