The past three seasons of NBC's The Voice have been relatively predictable as far as who went on to win, and host Carson Daly addressed this in a recent interview.

Season 8's Sawyer Fredericks, season 9's Jordan Smith and season 10's Alisan Porter were each considered frontrunners very early in their respective seasons, and they all wound up winning. This is a relatively recent phenomenon for The Voice, with more unpredictable victories happening in the earlier seasons.

Daly spoke about this in a new video interview with GoldDerby (seen below), admitting that they aren't too concerned about predictable winners behind-the-scenes.

"I hear what you're saying," Daly said, when asked if there's worry within the show about predictable wins. "Alisan had [the] Linda Ronstadt Blind Audition that just was one of the special ones, and she has that voice. She was excellent all season long and she ended up being a frontrunner I guess, and Jordan was kind of that way. I think there's been more seasons where we didn't have a frontrunner than when we did."

One example Daly brought up was season 6. Fans may remember that the late Christina Grimmie was considered a frontrunner through much of the season but did not end up winning.

"I think of Christina's season," Daly said. "She was really a frontrunner - Josh Kaufman, I believe, won that year, who wasn't a frontrunner and kind of got strong in the live shows. Jake Worthington was on Team Blake, he was the country artist that year, he actually came in second. So we've had our seasons where these perceived frontrunners also didn't go on to run away with it. If you get it, you get it. But as long as there's amazing talent on the show I think we feel like we're doing a good job."

It remains to be seen if season 11 will result in another predictable winner, but one factor that won't be predictable is the presence of new coach Miley Cyrus. The outrageous singer and other new coach Alicia Keys will join Adam Levine and Blake Shelton for the upcoming fall season. Season 11 of The Voice will premiere Monday, Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
