Kristen Stewart has followed Ben Affleck's footsteps and stepped away from her participation in the upcoming comedy film Focus.

Shortly after it was announced that Will Smith was considered to replace Affleck, the Twilight star dropped out of the project reportedly due to the age difference between the two stars, a according to Variety. Stewart just turned 23 and Smith is 44.

E! News, however, reported that Stewart had dropped out of the project several months ago, not after Smith became attached to the project.

Affleck, 40, dropped out of the Warner Bros.-helmed flick in December. According to Variety, Affleck will not appear in the film because "while the actor very much wanted to do the film, the timing just couldn't be worked out."

Hollywood besties Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone were first approached about appearing in the film together a year ago but had to decline due to scheduling conflicts, Variety reports. Brad Pitt was also considering the film, according to IMDB.com.

The film's story line involves an inexperienced female con artist who teams up with a mastermind and they eventually become romantically involved. The script was written by the co-writers of Crazy, Stupid, Love which started Gosling, Stone and Steve Carrell.

A source revealed that Stewart has given her career a temporary backseat to her relationship ever since Robert Pattinson forgave her in September for cheating on him with her Snow White & The Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

A friend of Stewart revealed the reason the On The Road actress spent quality time with Pattinson at Coachella concert series last weekend instead of attending the 2013 MTV Movie Awards- she has decided to get her love life back on track by putting her relationship before her career.

"The real reason Kristen didn't attend the MTV Movie Awards this past Sunday is because she made a vow that Rob and her relationship with Rob will always come first. Going to the awards would have ruined her Sunday at Coachella with Rob," the source told Hollywood Life.

Stewart is focused entirely on the British hunk because he is scheduled to leave again for another film project. Pattinson just returned to Los Angeles in mid-March after a nine week film shoot in Australia for his upcoming sci-fi film The Rover.

Stewart is scheduled to begin filming the sequel to Snow White and the Huntsman later this year and will begin filming The Big Shoe with Elizabeth Banks in mid-June.
