Kristen Wiig left seven years of her life behind when she bowed out of Saturday Night Live last May. Now, nearly a year later, the comedy writer and actress admits that she felt a bit "lost" during the transition.

At CinemaCon this week, where she presented a clip of an upcoming film with Ben Stiller, Wiig explained how SNL had become so much a part of her life.

"The show was seven years of my life and a six-day work week and you're constantly with your friends all day, all night...You sort of live and breathe the show," Wiig stated, according to Access Hollywood. "Then, when it's over, you kind of feel a little lost... it was definitely an adjustment - even just the hours and [no longer] being in New York."

The clip Wiig was presenting was from The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, which the 39 year-old actor co-stars in with Stiller. Stiller also directs the film thus becoming an inspiration to Wiig. The writer of Bridesmaids hope to try her hand behind the camera.

"It was very inspiring for me to watch Ben [Stiller] directing and acting in this movie because I do hope to maybe direct something," Wiig said, according to omg!.

Wiig is currently preparing for a role in the new Anchorman.
