He used to be one of the most bankable stars in Hollywood, but it looks like Matthew McConuaghey's career is looking worse for wear these days. In fact, some are even saying that he might not have the box office mojo he used to have as his latest movie, Free State of Jones tanked in theaters this past weekend.

Even though the film garnered mixed reviews, it only made $8 million at the box office and worse, was beat out by Blake Lively's much smaller budget film, The Shallows.

According to Naughty Gossip on Monday, one source close to the actor said, "Matthew's career is in crisis. The film roles are not coming in anymore and he is no longer getting millions per film. This is why he is doing car commercials now."

The insider added, "He can make more money doing ads than he can acting. If he doesn't make a hit soon film, he will no longer make films."

So far McConaughey himself has not made any comments about the flop, although he did very little to promote the film in the first place. One of his most recent films, Dallas Buyers Club, garnered him not only rave reviews, but also an Academy Award for best actor that year.
