Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin planned to celebrate his homecoming with a family trip to Disneyland, but sadly, their plan may never happen.

Months after the Teen Mom 2 star booked the family trip, she announced she and Marroquin were parting ways, and now, as he prepares to return home, the drama between them continues.

“His first priority is seeing his family and spending time with the boys,” a source close to Lowry told Radar Online on Tuesday. “Javi and Kail are planning on spending time together as a family to see if their relationship can be fixed.”

However, to avoid “smothering each other while trying to deal with their issues,” Marroquin planned activities with friends as well. “He also has plans to do a couple of things with Peach and friends like concerts, mini vacations and sporting events."

Following Lowry's divorce announcement weeks ago, both she and Marroquin faced rumors of infidelity and after she attended a pride festival in Asbury, N.J., Lowry was linked to her longtime friend Becky Hayter. Still, despite all that has happened between them, Radar's source claimed the two "plan to salvage their nearly 4-year marriage."

“They are trying to work their issues out and stay together,” a source told the outlet. “I think they both need to work on many aspects of their relationship. There are a lot of control and anger issues at play.”

Earlier this month, a source spoke to Us Weekly, claiming Lowry and Marroquin had been unhealthy for some time.

“Kail knew divorce was inevitable,” an insider close to the estranged couple told the magazine. “There was always a disconnect.”

During Teen Mom 2 season seven, Lowry spoke of the challenges of Marroquin's deployment.

"It's rough, it's hard," she told her friends. "[Deployment is] a lot harder on him than I thought it would be. He doesn't feel supported.… We lose things to talk about. His day-to-day is the same, we have been fighting. Right now I feel like is the time for me to focus on myself."
