Could Selena Gomez be preparing to break girl code in an effort to find true love?

Acccording to a new report, Gomez, a longtime friend of fellow pop star Taylor Swfit, has been eyeing Swift's ex-boyfriend, Calvin Harris.

“Selena’s told friends she believes she and Calvin would make a perfect match,” an insider told Life & Style magazine, via a report by Hollywood Life on Wednesday. “She always thought Taylor just wasn’t right for him and the breakup confirmed that in her mind. She says she and Calvin would make a better couple…Selena has always had her eye on Calvin.”

Swift and Harris began dating in 2015 after being introduced to one another by Ellie Goulding at the 2015 Brit Awards and broke up earlier this month after about 15 months of dating.

“Selena doesn’t want to lose her best friend,” the source explained. And if Swift ever discovered what Gomez was thinking, the Justin Bieber ex-boyfriend would “just try to laugh it off” to ensure she and Swift remained on good terms.

Although Gomez may feel that she and Harris would do well together, it is highly unlikely that Harris would agree -- especially after his highly publicized split from Swift, which was quickly followed by the debut of Swift's new relationship with actor Tom Hiddleston. In fact, Harris has reportedly sworn off dating celebrities.

Following his breakup, Harris “believes celebs are narcissistic” and wants a “normal girl,” an insider told TMZ. And as for what he was looking for in the future, the insider said his type was “very, very clear — sexy Latina…a Sophia Vergara-type who is not famous."

As for Gomez's current dating life, she is single and busy with her Revival World Tour and hasn't been linked to anyone since she and her ex-boyfriend, Justin Bieber, were spotted together in March.
