Future has spoken out in a candid way like never before on his high profile breakup with singer Ciara, her lawsuit against him, and her engagement to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson.

Future sat down for the latest issue of Rolling Stone, which he covers, and did not hold back as he dished on the recent drama between his ex-fiance that has been making headlines for months.

“I was scared… I was one step away from being married,” he said of their relationship that ended just three months after they welcomed their son, Future Zahir Wilburn. “I failed publicly in relationships. Then you want to go back to doing music, to what you know. And if the people didn’t accept you again, the one thing you feel like you can fall back on, it walked away from you. You feel like it’s over.”

Roughly two years later, Ciara is suing him for a social media rant he did against her and accused her of keeping the now two-year-old child away from him. Ciara filed a $15 million lawsuit with statements that his words against her have tarnished her career. (Future clapped back with a lawsuit of his own with claims that her career was already damaged. It has since been dropped)

“I can’t deal with it,” he admitted. “I can’t even think about it. I never imagined my life would be like that: ‘I’m going to sue you and take away from you.’ I don’t know how to deal with that. All I know is record, record, record, record.”

As for Wilson getting extra close to Ciara and baby Future, the rapper said he still has to warm up to the idea; but made sure not to be disrespectful when explaining their situation.

“It’s something that’ll take more time for me. It ain’t even about [him] playing daddy. I don’t even want to think about it. That’s my son forever. My son is going to be able to read this. He’s going to be able to look at those pictures. He’s going to be able to have a judgment for himself, and have a conversation with me man-to-man. That’s my blood. He is me. I am him. We is one.”
