The wait for the upcoming season continues as fans of the AMC network's period piece Hell On Wheels will have to hold their patience until its August premiere. The show will now be airing in an all-new TV slot, moving to Saturday nights.

According to Fashion & Style, AMC stated that the newest installment of the series will take place in 1867 and bring with it some new plotlines such as Wall Street and "the building of the railroad across the continent."

Hell on Wheels producer John Wirth took to Facebook in order to described what fans should anticipate from the upcoming season.

It "will be a Western about work - the building of the railroad, the binding of the nation after the Civil War, and the rehabilitation of the men who lived and fought their way through those exploits. This season we're placing Cullen Bohannon at the center of the show, and taking him away from the revenge motive which propelled him into the series."

Wirth also gave credit to AMC for raising the bar in terms of high-quality scripted television.

"AMC has raised the bar for television dramas, they've set the gold standard. There's nothing else like this on television," he said.

AMC's Hell On Wheels will make its return for season 3 on Saturday, August 3 at 9/8c.   Keep checking back for more of the latest details on the series.
