The third season of The Great British Baking Show is set to premiere Friday night on PBS.

The Great British Baking Show has become a cult favorite reality show since it began airing in the United States. This is the third season of The Great British Baking Show, which is technically the sixth U.K. season.

The series, which is technically called The Great British Bake Off in the U.K., features a group of amateur bakers competing in various baking challenges to see who is the best. One person is eliminated each week until the finale.

Each episode features a Signature challenge, in which the bakers use recipes they've worked with in the past, a Technical challenge, in which the bakers must bake with limited instructions, and a Showstopper challenge, in which bakers are tested to create their best looking and best tasting bake.

For the first episode of this new season the 12 new bakers will have Madeira cake as their Signature challenge, judge Mary Berry's frosted walnut cake for the Technical challenge and a black forest gateau for the Showstopper. Berry and Paul Hollywood are the judges, who decide who is eliminated based on the results of these challenges.

The series is hosted by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins.

The first episode of The Great British Baking Show (season 3) airs Friday at 9 p.m. ET/PT on PBS. There is no live streaming service for PBS so if you want to watch it live, you'll have to watch the actual television station.

However, new episodes are expected to be uploaded to the PBS website. Episodes from the first two seasons are currently up to watch if you want to catch up with the whole series.
