Wondering where Jane Doe learned to kick ass like no other? Blindspot's finally ready to tell you.

The NBC series is so very close to revealing Jane Doe's (Jaimie Alexander) identity, and, with that reveal, viewers will get to dive into the character's cloak-and-dagger past. We're talking flashbacks, and lots of them.

Heading into season 2, we know one thing for sure: Jane Doe is not Taylor Shaw. The premiere will pull back the curtain on her identity even as a three-month time jump will leave fans with a host of new questions once again. A quick dip into Jane's mind, however, will dole out all the info we need to whether the gap.

"The season-opener will also feature flashbacks to some of Jane's training that will prepare her for what she'll be facing during those intervening months," Entertainment Weekly revealed.

Remember how Jane's tooth contained connections to South Africa? All of season 1's little clues will coalesce when young Jane, aged 9 to 11, takes the screen.

"Producers are specifically looking for candidates who possess a background in gymnastics or martial arts and can execute a flawless South African accent and look like a miniature Jaimie Alexander," TV Line announced on Monday.

That's quite a bit to ask from a child actor, but we're sure The Blacklist will find someone who fits the bill. From the sound of it, Jane was trained from childhood, like an Earth-bound iteration of Killjoy's Dutch. But why? Who chose to fashion her into a mini warrior? Are they connected to her current mission? We have so many question.

Looking for answers? Tune into Blindspot this fall. The series' second season will premiere Sept. 14 on NBC.
