Former Fox & Friends Co-host Gretchen Carlson has filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against her former boss, Roger Ailes, claiming she was fired back in June after repeatedly denying sexual advances.

Carlson's lawsuit, which has been dismissed as false claims by Ailes, was filed Wednesday with claims that she suffered for years from "disparaging and discriminatory treatment" from Ailes and others. Here are the five facts about the case you need to know:

Carlson Claims Ailes Said Her "Problems" Would Go Away If She Had A Sexual Relationship With Him

According to the complaint, when Carlson met with him about some of her complaints about how she was being treated, he said "I think you and I should have had a sexual relationship a long time ago and then you'd be good and better and I'd be good and better," and that "sometimes problems are easier to solve" that way.

Her Lawsuit Also Mentions Former Co-Host Steve Doocy

The complaint also mentions her former co-host Steve Doocy, who back in 2009, had created what she called a "hostile work environment" by regularly treating her in both sexist and condescending ways. However, when she complained Ailes told her she was a "man hater" who needed to learn how to "get along with the boys."

Ailes Has Been Accused Of Sexual Harassment In The Past

A biography on Ailes which was excerpted in the New York Times in 2014, claims that Ailes, when he worked at NBC in the 1980s, offered television producer Randi Harrison a $100/week raise if she "agreed to have sex" with him "whenever he wanted." Those claims were also disputed.

Carlson Claims She Was Fired Due To The Harassment

Carlson claims she was terminated from Fox on June 23 for the situation after years of marginalizing her with less interviews and less desirable time slots for shows, all because she continued to refuse to a sexual relationship.

An Investigation Is Ongoing

Despite the charges being denied, an investigation is being done by Fox.
