Chris Brown Country Album Is Possible, Singer Says He Has No Limits Following 'X' Release

Chris Brown has been making the promotional rounds in support of his forthcoming release X and spoke of his desire to possibly record a country album during an interview with Charlotte radio station Power 98.

Brown stated that music was for everyone and he did not want to limit himself. He felt that to separate music by genre was a way of segregation.

"I want to always be able to do any kind of music I want. When I get older I might want to do a country album. Next year, I might want to do all hip-hop album or alternative album," he said. "Just making sure that anything that goes down, showing my audience or showing people that have a creative mind that you can do anything you want, it's just about believing and loving what you're doing in a positive way."

He also joked about being regarded as a rapper, saying, "I don't know if the world is ready for Chris Brown: The Rapper."

As for the album that he has put his time and energy into, he declared that some songs would change lives. He also said that the late Michael Jackson heavily influenced him and the album. Fine China, the lead single from X, borrows from the King of Pop's music and famous dance moves.

"Michael is one of my greatest influences," Brown said. "The way I look at everything I approach is... I wouldn't say a Michael Jackson standpoint, but I would say, 'Would he like it? Would he approve of it?' I looked up to him as a kid for every dance, for everything."

X is due to be released this summer.
