The pressures of being the Savior will be a big topic in the first few episodes Once Upon a Time's upcoming sixth season.

The opening scene of the season 6 premiere was revealed at Comic-Con last weekend, with Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz) being introduced as another Savior. The show's bosses are hoping to use this as a springboard to explore the mythology of the Savior further in season 6.

"The very first thing we're hoping is that people realize Emma [Jennifer Morrison] wasn't the first," co-showrunner Edward Kitsis said at Comic-Con, of being the Savior. "Once you realize that Emma wasn't the first, then it makes you wonder, 'Well, last year we learned about the Dark One mythology. Is this year when we learn about the Savior mythology?' And the answer would be yes."

We've seen through five seasons of Once Upon a Time that being the Savior is no easy task, and that will be explored directly in season 6, particularly with Emma.

"Last year we saw Emma [tell] Hook, 'I love you,' when there was no problem, when there was no death," Kitsis explained. "She was able to let in those new emotions. One of the things we want to get into this year is Emma Swan's head. What is it like to finally find your parents? What is it like to have to have the pressure of being the Savior? What is it like to fight all those fights?"

Emma and Aladdin's storylines will have some overlap, according to fellow showrunner Adam Horowitz.

"What we're going to do for Aladdin we'll slowly reveal, but from the get-go we're going to see that there might be some hints from that scene in the beginning to what Emma will be facing in the present," Horowitz said.

Once Upon a Time season 6 premieres Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
