Fans have been wondering for a couple of months if fan-favorite and Emmy Winner Tyler Christopher would ever be coming back to General Hospital as Nikolas Cassadine, but there has officially been news that he will be back soon.

In an announcement at a GH Fan Club Weekend event, Christopher himself announced he would return to the show after last being seen on-screen in June, and being temporarily replaced by Nick Stabile, who was last seen on July 19 when Nikolas appeared to fall out of a window after being shot.

According to reports, Christopher will be back in September, though it was unclear of that meant he'd be back on-screen then, or first be returning to work at that time.

He had left the show for what was said to be "Personal reasons," but was later revealed to be tense contract negotiations which seemed as if they could go where he didn't come back, depleting the show of a legendary character who was tied up in some big storylines.

The news of his return comes at the same time as news however that someone else who left the canvas for a break won't be coming back as soon as initially thought however.

Finola Hughes, who portrays Anna Devane on the show, last appeared earlier in July after being satisfied that Julian (William DeVry) was finally going to face justice for Duke's murder, and she left town to spend some time with her daughter, Robin (Kimberly McCullogh) and granddaughter in California.

However, a new report suggests that Hughes has decided to extend her time away and take a longer break. It has been noted however that there is nothing to worry about in regards to her status with the show, as she had signed a contract last year which would keep her around for a while longer.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
