Love may indeed be in the air, as Virgin America is set to roll out a new perk that gives its passengers the option to send drinks, meals or snacks to any fellow passenger aboard the plane that they fancy.

According to Fox News, the airline company made the announcement that its latest service will be added to its existing Red on-demand food purchasing system, and will allow someone to send something to a passenger of interest.

Once a passenger locates their target of interest on Virgin's digital seat map, he or she can browse the menu and have something sent their way.

To top it off, the purchaser can even follow their nice gesture up with a text message.

Although Virgin initially started the service on its Los Angeles to Las Vegas flights, it can now be used on any U.S. flight across the country.

Interestingly enough, airline companies are increasingly getting into the matchmaker game, as KLM Royal Dutch Airlines launched a service called "meet and seat" that allows travelers to attach their Facebook and LinkedIn profiles to their check-in info.

Malaysia Airlines uses Facebook to let passengers see which of their friends are boarding the same flight or visiting a certain city at the same time they are.

Virgin boss Sir Richard Branson, familiarized people with the flirting concept via video, stating that the odds of exiting the plan with a new romance in the works are over 50 percent.
