Clash of Clans has been around for a long time, but it still continues to be one of the most popular mobile games in the market. This is mainly because its developer, Supercell, releases regular updates for the game, allowing aspects of the game to always offer something new for players.

In a recent announcement, Supercell staff Anoushka stated on the game's official forum that the upcoming Clash of Clans update, which would be released mid-September, would offer a number of major changes and balancing fixes to the game.

While details about the upcoming update to the game have not been released, the notion of balancing troops has been welcomed warmly by players, especially since the developer has confirmed that the September update would not follow the same nerf-power up pattern that has been implemented in previous updates.

Rather, the upcoming update would focus primarily on balancing the units currently featured in the game. According to Anoushka, balancing is a key factor that the developer is sincerely focusing on for the next update.

"Ideally, we would nerf dominant units indirectly, instead of nerfing their HP/DPS/increase housing space etc, but that can't always be the case. Balance is not an easy task, even with the smallest changes done to a unit we risk seeing them going from "too OP" to "ineffective" (Witches would be the best example right now), or conversely underwhelming units becoming the newest OP troop (Bowlers)," Anoushka wrote.

Perhaps most interesting about the September update, however, is the addition of new defense features in the game. According to the Supercell staff member, the upcoming update would feature a new defense system that would be able to target groups of enemy units, as well as a buff for Witches, which have become ineffective after their recent nerf.

"We're carefully looking into this and will provide more details as soon as possible but that's the plan in the short run. In the long run, we may be introducing a new sort of defense that targets bigger groups of mid-range units, and maybe then we can buff Witches a bit," the staff member wrote.

Though no final date has been set for the release of the next Clash of Clans update, fans of the wildly popular game are very enthusiastic about the prospect of enjoying new features in the beloved mobile title.
