It seemed like things were about to end on a happy note for all of the maids and give Devious Maids some potential closure if it isn't picked up for a fifth season, but that all went right out the window when Marisol's (Ana Ortiz) happily ever after ending with Peter (James Denton) came to a screeching halt on her wedding day.

Warning: Spoilers from the Season 4 finale follow. Do not continue if you haven't watched.

After closing the mystery of who killed Peri (Gail Fleming how could you!), everything seemed to be working out better for the maids. Marisol became engaged to Peter, who decided to give her another chance thanks to a talk from Genevieve (Susan Lucci), Rosie (Dania Ramirez) was able to tell Spence (Grant Show) that they were going to have a baby, Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) and Dani (Sol Rodriguez) had worked through most of their issues, and Zoila (Judy Reyes) was working for Genevieve again.

However, as the ceremony began, Marisol never made it down the aisle, and Evelyn (Rebecca Wisocky) had no idea where she had gone. And when the ladies went to investigate, they found a discarded bouquet, a note saying Marisol was sorry, a broken window, and most chilling, blood.

Now, in a new interview with TV Line, executive producer Sabrina Wind teases that the moment is definitely a jumping off point to the new season if Lifetime does pick it up once again.

"It will launch us into the new season," she said. "We have many thoughts of what it all means, but we have to wait to talk to Lifetime about them. It will be a completely new story."

Of course, it won't be the only thing that will be explored if the show is picked up for a new season, as Carmen and Dani's relationship still has potential to be rocked by one last secret-the fact that Dani's father is alive, despite what she told Carmen. And if the show is picked up, Wind is positive the mysterious Lucas will be a new face in the group.

"100,000 percent! I'm hoping the character is this incredibly hot, wonderful man who's going to come back into Carmen's life and challenge where she is and what she's about," she said about the possibility of his showing up.
