The plot synopsis for ABC's Once Upon a Time season 6 has been released, teasing something big coming for Emma (Jennifer Morrison).

ABC revealed the synopsis for the upcoming sixth season of Once Upon a Time this week, teasing the Evil Queen splitting from Regina (Lana Parrilla) and all the ramifications that come with it.

The synopsis reveals that Regina will be "quickly learning" about just how difficult it will be to destroy her evil alter ego as The Evil Queen will be lashing out at Storybrooke.

Meanwhile, Emma will figure out a huge secret, "that could have serious consequences for her family and loved ones."

Henry (Jared Gilmore) will be busy welcoming in "new arrivals from the Land of Untold Stories" as he make strides towards completing their respective stories. However, many characters will become a part of these untold stories and be forced to confront their own pasts, including Regina, Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin), Prince Charming (Josh Dallas), Captain Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) and Zelena (Rebecca Mader).

As for Mr. Gold (Robert Carlyle), the twisted villain will be hoping to get Belle (Emilie de Ravin) out of the replica of Pandora's Box, "in hopes of reuniting with both her and their unborn child."

Of course, it wouldn't be a new season of Once Upon a Time without the introduction of some colorful new characters.

"This season our heroes will be met with many surprises, including Aladdin (Deniz Akdeniz), a former Savior who may be able to offer Emma just the help she needs, Jafar (Oded Fehr), Princess Jasmine (Karin David), the Count of Monte Cristo (Craig Horner) and Morpheus (Giles Matthey)," the synopsis reads.

Season 6 of Once Upon a Time will also be similar to the first two seasons in that it will tell a complete story. Seasons 3, 4 and 5 had breaks in the middle, with story arcs frequently ending and beginning at the halfway points.

Once Upon a Time season 6 premieres Sunday, Sept. 25 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
