The steam is off on Quantico's season 1 pressure cooker, giving Alex and Ryan a chance to couple up. A tumultuous year of subterfuge, betrayal, and crossed purposes will give way to calm seas for the Ralex 'ship.

When season 2 kicks off, the on-again/off-again couple will update their status to 'in a relationship.'

"The first time you see her, you see them together. Alex and Ryan are dating," showrunner Josh Safran confirmed to Entertainment Weekly. Bliss is fleeting, however, and their relationship will hit a snag well before the premiere's opening credits. "Something goes terribly wrong between Alex and Ryan within the first 45 seconds of the premiere."

Will their problems stem from a personal place, or will the pressures of their respective jobs take romance out of the equation? Does the premiere pick up in the future, or is Ralex doomed in the present? Quantico's timeline is constantly in flux, switching between the past and the future to create a web of mystery that leaves viewers guessing at every turn. Depending on the nature of this year's core storyline, Ryan (Jake McLaughlin) and Alex's (Priyanka Chopra) little complication could actually take place months down the line.

"When season two begins, Alex finds herself at "The Farm," the CIA's mysterious training facility. As Alex navigates the dark world of espionage, far different and more dangerous than what she's learned before, she's pulled into the center of a deadly conspiracy that not only threatens the lives of this country's citizens, but the lives of countless others across the globe," ABC teased. "This conspiracy calls everyone around her into question, be it new faces from the CIA or old ones from the Bureau. Prepare yourselves for another thrilling and heart-stopping adventure loaded with surprises you won't see coming."
