Supercell seems intent on improving its current flagship game, Clash Royale, as soon as possible, with new rumors suggesting that the highly-popular mobile game would be receiving a much-needed update within August 2016.

Supercell Trying to Catch Up?

The rumors which recently emerged came from the speculation that Supercell is trying hard to catch up to the popularity of Pokemon GO, the undisputed king of mobile games today.

Prior to the release of the augmented reality title, Supercell's top games, Clash of Clans and Clash Royale, were among the dominant players in the mobile gaming world.

The rumors do, in a number of ways, make perfect sense. After all, Supercell itself announced that it would be releasing a Clash Royale patch very soon. While the specific date for the update's release has not been announced by the developer, many of the firm's fans believe that the patch's release is just around the corner.

Here are some of the speculated changes in the game that are expected to be included in the upcoming update.

Mini Pekka Nerf

The Mini Pekka has been considered by a good number of Clash Royale gamers as an overpowered unit, with its extremely high speed and massive damage stats. Apart from this, it also spawns very frequently, making it a game-breaker in more ways than one. Thus, its impending nerf is pretty much certain.

Miner Nerf

Another unit that is widely speculated to be nerfed by Supercell is the Miner. Even in Clash Royale's sister game, Clash of Clans, Miners have been found to cause a significant power imbalance during battles, mainly due to the unit's abilities and skills. Currently, speculations are high that the unit would have its damage points significantly reduced.

Bowler Buff

The upcoming update would not only be confined to nerfs only, however, as many fans are speculating that Bowlers would also be receiving a buff after the rumored August patch. The alleged Bowler buff would result in the unit gaining more damage points, which would, in turn, encourage players to utilize them more during battles.

Legendary Cards Update

Speculations are also high that Clash Royale's Legendary Cards would also be made more common in decks, allowing players of the game to use rare cards on a more frequent basis. In this regard, rumors also pertain to the game's Tournament Mode getting an overhaul for the August update.

While the rumors do sound very solid and while they do align with Supercell's previous announcements, there is still a pretty good chance that the upcoming update would come sometime early September instead. Thus, it is best to take Clash Royale's August update release date with a grain of salt. Nevertheless, the impending changes in the game would surely make the mobile title more than a worthy competitor to Pokemon GO, the undisputed champion in mobile gaming today.
