Clash of Clans developer Supercell has just announced a notable patch for the popular mobile game, with a number of balancing changes to the title's units and artillery.

The Clash of Clans August update was announced on the game's official blog, and while Supercell was quick to assure fans that a more extensive update would be coming soon, the developer was nonetheless optimistic about the implemented changes in some of the game's units and mechanics.

Canon Damage Increased

Supercell has announced that Canon damage would be greatly buffed in the Clash of Clans August 2016 patch. This was to help players deal with mass attacks of mid-size units. Currently, mass attacks are known as the bane of CoC matches. With this change, the playing field becomes a bit fairer.

Miner Movement Speed Nerf

In their current iteration, Miners are among the deadliest units in Clash of Clans, with many players favoring them due to their burrowing capabilities and their immense speed. Over the past few months, Miners have been found to be responsible for a good number of lopsided battles. After the Clash of Clans August update, that would not be the case anymore, with Miners receiving a speed reduction.

Healers Become More Vulnerable

Healers have become the center of a number of popular tactics like the Queenwalk and mass-Bowler strategy. Unfortunately for players, these strategies are, in a lot of ways, capable of making matches very lopsided. After the Clash of Clans August patch, Healers would be vulnerable to Air Mines again, making abused tactics like the Queenwalk a lot less effective.

Eagle Artillery Activation Time

This particular change included in the Clash of Clans August patch is something that would favor attackers, as the popular defense structure would take longer to activate. With this system in place, attackers would enjoy some early battle flexibility, at least before troops begin their assault.

While the Clash of Clans August patch features a rather minimal set of changes to the game, the updates to the units and structures' stats would nonetheless help keep the popular mobile game balanced. With these changes, Clash of Clans aficionados would definitely experience a new dynamic in the game, at least before the major rumored September update kicks in.
