The always outspoken Floyd "Money" Mayweather will step into the ring with a formidable opponent this weekend in WBC Welterweight champion Robert "The Ghost" Guerrero (31-1-1). At 43-0, boxing's best pound-for-pound boxer clearly has the accomplishments to back up his taunts.

With the massive amount of trash talking that Mayweather traditionally spews prior to his bouts, many fans are surely rooting for the welterweight contender to finally be defeated.

Although Mayweather is no longer a spring chicken at the age of 36, his defense has still been extremely solid in his last couple fights. The boxer has always been quite effective at tiring his opponents out and minimizing their punches landed.

While the odds are clearly in Mayweather's favor, Guerrero, 30, surely won't be going down easy. If he wants to stay in the fight and have a shot at a victory, he must find a way to get past Mayweather's defense while also being selective with his punches.

Interesting to note, Mayweather hasn't stepped into the ring in nearly a year since beating Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas on May 5, 2012.

Although ring rust may play a factor, the boxer's long rest period may serve to his advantage nonetheless.

The Mayweather versus Guerrero match is set to take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 4, and distributed via Showtime on pay-per-view.
