Whitney Houston's family has reportedly stripped the hotel room in which she died completely bare in hopes of preventing looters from collecting "'memorabilia" and cashing in on the late singer's death.

Sources told TMZ the family meticulously removed everything from room 434 of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, including bed sheets, towels and bits of trash.

Relatives feared some people might attempt to "make a desperate buck off Whitney's death," the site reported, adding that the items taken from the hotel room were disposed of "discreetly."

The legendary singer was found in the bathtub of the hotel guest room on February 11. Authorities are awaiting results of toxicology results to determine the cause of death.
