Word is daytime television talk show host Wendy Williams is ready to end her marriage with her longtime husband and manager, Kevin Hunter.

Apparently Williams’ show runners wanted to axe her husband from her show after they did a major shakeup with producers following Williams’ controversial comments about HBCUs and the NAACP. Williams is said to have been on board with her husband getting fired as they reportedly have issues in their marriage.

“Show execs want her husband/manager fired from the show,” an insider told B. Scott Thursday. “Wendy is in FULL support of his exit amid their major marital problems. Things have gotten so bad that she is seriously considering filing for divorce.”
It’s not clear what part, if any, that Hunter played when it came to Williams’ slamming the NAACP and HBCUs (she later apologized after getting a history lesson from journalist Roland Martin), but the insider added that Hunter does not have a good rapport with Wendy or her staffers on set.

“Kevin makes all the decisions and has become more and more controlling as the show has become a success. He insists that all show questions be run by him.”

They added that Hunter went as far as changing his wife’s cell phone number so her staff could not reach her. He also brought a new driver on the team, who has to “report to him.”

Rumor has it he has also tried to take control of the scripts, segments, and even celebrities who come on the show.

“Wendy is smart. No one can understand why she does not tell him to ‘f’ off. HE is making everyone’s lives miserable and is causing problems on an otherwise great show.”

The two tied the knot in 1997. As for Williams’ show, she has already been given the green light to continue through 2020.
