They were all informed she had perished in a plane crash following her escape from the mental hospital, and now, with no evidence to suggest that she is actually alive and her alleged death was faked, Abigail's loved ones will gather to mourn their loss on Days of Our Lives.

The news of her death has rattled her husband, Chad (Billy Flynn) and her mother, Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) the most, and both have hit dramatic lows since learning the news. Chad has decided he can't be a father to Thomas without Abigail by his side, and is planning to give him to Jennifer and forgo the custody battle they initially were going to take to court. However, Jennifer had one night where she once again succumbed to her dark demons and drank and took drugs again in her grief, and is struggling to get back on a sober path again.

Now though, Jennifer will find herself no longer alone as she grieves her daughter, and several other members of the extended family and friends will gather at the Horton house to help her as she mourns. Among those with her will be Doug (Bill Hayes) and Julie (Susan Seaforth Hayes), Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) and Adrienne (Judi Evans).

Now, as they all mourn and try to remember the good times they had with Abigail in the past, it will still be a difficult time, because losing Abigail means they are all having to leave behind someone that they all cared for deeply, and who made a positive impact on their lives with the things she had done over the years.

However, once person who won't be present at the gathering is Chad, who will to choose to mourn and say his final goodbyes to his wife in his own, different way. And though he still can't believe he may have to continue on in his life without her by his side, he may find the resolve to do so, and could then try to be the husband she would have wanted and the father their son needs after all.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
