Jamie Dornan has certainly played some dark characters in his career, but is he interested in taking lighthearted roles anytime soon?

From the sexy but twisted Christian Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey to full-blown serial killer Paul Spector in The Fall, Dornan has become very well known for his darker roles. Yet, Dornan also has two young daughters who could soon be interested in seeing their daddy's work. So will that influence Dornan's future acting roles?

"I am mindful that I have two children now," Dornan admitted in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight. "There is part of me that does want to do something they can watch soon - that is kind of lighthearted - because I don't consider myself a dark or menacing person despite what I portray onscreen. I definitely want to have the opportunity to show other sides as well."

One of those other sides might be through starring in a romantic comedy.

"I am not opposed to that at all," he admitted, of the idea of starring in the popular movie genre. "But in terms of the last five or 10 years, there have only been one or two that worked. It's a genre that they often get wrong. So you'd have to be very careful to get all the right people, and you'd have to feel strongly that it is the right one to do. But I am certainly open to it."

In the mean time, Dornan is hard at work on the third Fifty Shades movie, titled Fifty Shades Freed. Production began directly after the end of filming for the second movie, Fifty Shades Darker. The actor can currently be seen in Anthropoid, the new World War II film in which Dornan plays Czech soldier Jan Kubis, who was sent on a mission as part of a team to assassinate SS General Reinhard Heydrich.

Fifty Shades Darker will be released in theaters on Feb. 10, 2017.
