Monica has responded to her alleged arch nemesis Brandy possibly throwing shade her way.

Monica stopped by the highly anticipated season three premiere of The Real and was very candid when asked about Brandy allegedly dissing her on social media.

It started when a fan asked Brandy if she would take part in the So Gone challenge which features fans and celebrities rapping over Monica’s hit 2003 song. Brandy made it clear she wasn’t interested and told the fan, “Chile bye.”

Now, Monica has spoken out about it for the first time.

She first laughed at Brandy’s response before she added, “I’ll tell you the real, I’m not bothered at all.”

The audience applauded her and she continued with, “The old me and the new me is two different things. This journey of self-progression and self-love and empowerment that I’m on… I can’t go backwards. I think this was a test from God for me.”
She went on to compliment Brandy in what could have been the classiest clap back.

“I’ve always thought she was one of the most legendary people and has one of the most amazing voices with runs and riffs.”

She admitted she thought the drama was “blown out of proportion” but made it clear she wanted to be a good example for her children.

She even said she is open to working with Brandy again in the future.

“The only Grammy either of us has is together. That to me says something special.”
