Netflix is ending Florida Keys drama Bloodline after its upcoming third season.

Bloodline is slated to conclude after 2017's third season, according to a new report by The Hollywood Reporter. The report states that Netflix has informed Bloodline's production company, Sony, that the series was not moving forward after season 3.

This goes against showrunners Glenn Kessler, Todd A. Kessler and Daniel Zelman's plan of doing five or six seasons, which they revealed to The Hollywood Reporter early last year.

"We're doing a TV series, so even in our own mind, we're asking ourselves, 'Does this series have seasons in it?'" Zelman said at the time. "When we pitched it and we thought about it, we were thinking five to six seasons down the line because we wanted to make sure it could hold that much material. So we certainly have ideas for where everything could go and hopefully where everything will go."

Glenn also spoke with Deadline recently about doing multiple seasons of the show.

"We always planned on multiple seasons. It's about the family and the relationships of those family members," he said. "Danny was always going to [die], like in 'Crime and Punishment' and other stories where it happens early. 'Bloodline' is about watching these relationships evolve."

Through its first two seasons, Bloodline did not have as much buzz as some of Netflix's other original series, like House of Cards, Orange Is the New Black, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, Making a Murderer and now Stranger Things. However, it has scored Emmy nominations in its first two seasons, with stars Kyle Chandler (who plays John) and Ben Mendelssohn (Danny) receiving nominations both years in Drama Lead Actor and Drama Supporting Actor, respectively.

The series also stars Linda Cardellini, Norbert Leo Butz and Sissy Spacek.

Bloodline's third and final season does not yet have a release date, though it will likely drop at some point between March and May in 2017.
