It's hard to make smokey eyes look fresh. There's only so much creativity allowed: You get a base color shadow and a crease color, and blend the two using a transition color. The moment you pick up an eyeshadow palette, the first thing you're taught is how to do a smoldering eye.

When we do see something that deviates from the smokey eye norm, even if only slightly, we have to take notice. And that's exactly what Emily Ratajkowski did: Her blue shadow was enough to cause quite a stir.

The smokey eye incorporates a aqua shade in the inner corner, to a glittery navy crease. The shadow on the lower lashline plays up the vixen vibes, too.

To copy the look, you need a palette with plenty of shimmer and showstopping blue tones. While Emily's makeup artist used LORAC, you don't have to splurge on the brand to mimic her smolder. Try L'Oreal Paris Colour Riche Dual Effects Eyeshadow in Eternal Blue--it's just as pigmented as the high-end version. Be sure to incorporate a liner to get all up in your waterline and tightline (I prefer Prestige Liquid Eyeliner in Black, and it's under $5, too.)

Balance out those killer eyes with a rosy nude lip (think Maybelline The Buffs lipstick in Blushing Beige.) Just dust on a hint of bronzer, and you're good to go!
