She knows what she did was wrong and broke his heart in so many ways, but Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will become determined to save her marriage to Jack (Peter Bergmann) even when he declares he wants a divorce on The Young and the Restless.

Now that the truth is finally out about her affair with his brother, Billy (Jason Thompson), Phyllis has even more resolve than she did before Jack learned the truth to work on their marriage and fix their problems, which she blames solely on Victor's (Eric Braden) scheme which brought Marco into her life and scarred her terribly. However, despite Jack agreeing on some level that Victor is to blame, he also blames Phyllis for her own reaction to the situation, and for betraying him in general, and will rebuff her pleas for reconciliation.

"Don't give up on us," she cries in a preview clip for the Tuesday, Sept. 21 episode.

"Why not? You sure as hell did," Jack replies.

As Phyllis becomes more and more worried that she won't be able to fix this one and Jack will never forgive her, Billy is also dealing with his own consequences stemming from the affair. Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is also furious about his sleeping with Phyllis, even though they weren't together, and has already refused to allow him to see their kids on a day that he was supposed to, which has made their work situation less tolerable as they continue to bicker and fight. Now, when they start getting out of control, Jill (Jess Walton) will step in and warn Victoria that the last thing she wants to do is to add more complications to the situation by giving Billy something else to get angry or upset about.

"Letting Billy stew in it is a huge mistake," she says in the clip. "And it's one that you can't afford to make."

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
