Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from husband Brad Pitt after just two years of marriage, but was a third party involved?

For the past several months, Pitt had been linked to French actress Marion Cotillard, his co-star in Allied, but their relationship may not have been what broke the camel's back in the marriage between Pitt and Jolie.

"Angelina Jolie has filed for divorce from Brad Pitt and the trigger was a conflict over the kids," TMZ reported on Tuesday morning.

According to the report, Jolie filed legal documents to end her marriage to Pitt on Monday and cited "irreconcilable differences." She also requested physical custody of their six children with Pitt getting nothing more than visitation, which is extremely significant. After all, in most situations, couples with children agree to share custody of the kids involved, but according to Jolie's filing, she does not want Pitt having any type of physical custody.

"Angelina's decision to file has to do with the way Brad was parenting the children ... she was extremely upset with his methods," the outlet explained.

Meanwhile, when it comes to a third party, the outlet was told Jolie's decision to file for divorce was based solely on his interaction with their children.

Jolie is not asking for spousal support and listed their date of separation as Sept. 15, 2016.

Pitt and Jolie were last seen together at The Griddle Cafe in West Hollywood, Calif., where they treated their 8-year-old twins, Vivienne and Knox, to a pancake breakfast for their 8th birthday.

UPDATE: Page Six has just shared a report stating that despite TMZ's claim that a third party was not involved, an affair with Cotillard is suspected to have taken place.

“[Jolie] hired a private eye because she felt that he was fooling around with her on the set, and it turns out, he was. And that was the final straw,” the source said.
