The Blacklist's Tom Keen is a man on a mission, but his plans of settling down with his burgeoning family are slipping through his fingers light water through a sieve.

Season 3 ended in chaos for the Keen family, separating mother, daughter, and father mere moments after they reached their Cuban refuge. Months of meticulous planning and subterfuge went straight down the drain when Alexander Kirk entered the scene, and Ryan Eggold's (Ulrich Thomsen) character will have to spend the season 4 premiere fighting for his life - and a way back to those he loves.

"I think Tom Keen is willing to go to just about any length to get back to Liz and especially to get to his daughter, who was also taken," Keen told Entertainment Weekly . "Now he's discovering what it means to be a father. He's a killer in many ways who's turned off a lot of those aspects of himself, and now has this tiny, adorable little baby girl, which is awakening things in him. Or just teaching him what it means, maybe, to be human. So I think he's learning to care like he never has before."

Unfortunately, the road back will be littered with (figurative) landmines. Although, knowing The Blacklist, those pitfalls could be quite literal.

"We're going to find Tom, within moments, in the trunk of a car going nowhere good," series creator Jon Bokenkamp explained to TV Guide noting that Tom's "got a whole basket full of problems before his character can even consider" moving to Blacklist: Redemption, which will potentially premiere in February.
