Beyonce appeared on Good Morning America on Monday and discussed her daughter Blue Ivy, her shock at the reaction to her wedding anniversary trip in Cuba and her role in the upcoming film Epic.

The Houston native spoke to GMA co-anchor Amy Robach while in London during the European leg of her Mrs. Carter Show world tour. The Halo singer completed a six-concert series at London's O2 Arena on May 4.

The 31-year-old and her husband, Jay-Z, went to Havana to celebrate their fifth wedding anniversary on April 4. The power couple received criticism for their trip because U.S. law prohibits citizens from traveling there for tourism. However, the Treasury Department confirmed the trip was approved and Beyonce told GMA she thought the public's reaction to her trip was "quite shocking."

"You know, it was such a beautiful trip. I met some incredible children," Beyonce said. "I visited some incredible entrepreneurs. And it was really, it was really educational for me. I learned so much about so many people and the country, and it was actually quite shocking."

Beyoncé confirmed her previous statement in SHAPE magazine when she said she is "absolutely trying" to expand her family and have more children.

"I would like more children," she said. "I think my daughter needs some company. I definitely love being a big sister."

Beyonce also said that Blue Ivy is her top priority and as a mother her biggest job is to protect her family.

"And I am very protective. I just want to make sure that she can have a healthy, safe, normal life ... in the back of my mind, she's my priority," she said. "And life is completely different now. So I'm - I feel really, really just lucky that I can still do what I love, and now have a way bigger meaning. And that's to be her mother."

Beyonce also discussed with GMA her role in her upcoming animated film EPIC, in which she lends a voiceover to the character Queen Tara. She revealed that she taped the recording while pregnant with Blue Ivy, and that it was an emotional experience for her.

"You know, I was so honored when they asked for me to do this role," Beyonce said. "And I was actually pregnant at the time. And I thought, 'You know, by the time this comes out my daughter will ... understand it's my voice and what an incredible, cool point.'"

"It has so much depth. You know, it's so emotional," she added. "And I literally, I was crying when I - when I did the voiceover. And it was the first thing I did after giving birth. And there's a scene where I pick the pod. And literally there were ... tears falling."

EPIC will arrive in theaters on May 24. The film also stars the voices of comedian actor Aziz Ansari, Amanda Seyfried, rapper Pitbull and rocker Steven Tyler.
