Clash of Clans fans have been waiting for the next update to the wildly popular mobile strategy game to roll out. While the update's patch seems to have been detected on developer Supercell's own servers, there is a good chance that the highly-anticipated Clash of Clans September update would not come to pass.

Thus, avid Clashers would probably be wise to extend more patience, as a longer wait seems to be in order.

The hype surrounding the upcoming Clash of Clans update is almost at a fever pitch, with its sister game Clash Royale already receiving a massive update this month. Fans of the developer were quick to embrace the update to Clash Royale, triggering a spending spree that catapulted the game to the number one spot in mobile titles, dethroning Niantic's hyper-popular juggernaut, Pokemon GO.

Thus, it was no surprise that Clash of Clans fans were expecting a similar update to be rolled out to the classic mobile title. However, a post by a Supercell member in the official Clash of Clans forum seems to suggest that the game's highly anticipated update would not roll out in September after all.

"The update will be here when it is ready, whether that is September or not. I can't say. Of course, the team will aim to have it out ASAP, but no set date or even month has been stated," moderator from Supercell stated.

Despite the rather disheartening news, however, a number of avid Clash of Clans fans have taken it upon themselves to investigate further. According to iDigital Times, what was found in Supercell's servers was very encouraging.

Redditor Chief spAnser, who was able to predict the rollout of the Clash Royale update, stated that the Clash of Clans stage server has already been updated to 8.481.x, which is the server that the developer usually utilizes when an upcoming update is about to be officially rolled out. Thus, there is a good chance that Clash of Clans would soon open the update's Sneak Peek period.

The upcoming Clash of Clans update is rumored to include a number of changes to the game, including new challenges, a new game mode, as well as balancing changes to the game's characters.
