Another Hollywood couple bites the dust. Naomi Watts and Live Schreiber go separate ways after 11 years of being together and having 2 sons.

The Watts and Schreiber split is official. The now estranged couple had issued a joint statement confirming the news that they have called it quits and are separating.

"Over the past few months we've come to the conclusion that the best way forward for us as a family is to separate as a couple," the joint statement revealed to People.

The duo also mentioned, "It is with great love, respect, and friendship in our hearts that we look forward to raising our children together and exploring this new phase of our relationship." Moreover, both actors asked the press to respect the privacy of their children.

The former couple is blessed with two sons during the 11 years that they were together. Alexander Sasha is eight while Samuel Kai is seven.

Although the reason for the break-up is still unclear, the 48-year-old actor's co-star in "Ray Donovan" said that Watts and Schreiber have been having problems for quite some time now.

The couple was last seen together in the red carpet at the Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month to promote the movie they both star in, "The Bleeder," noted TIME. Watts and Schreiber played the lead couple in this boxing biopic based on the life of Chuck Wepner.

During their public appearance at the festival, the couple showed no signs that their relationship is on the rocks. The couple even posted pictures on their Instagram accounts in between attending the Toronto and Venice Film Festivals.

The British actress met Schreiber at the MET Gala back in 2005. She confirmed in an interview that they exchanged numbers during the event and had been calling each other after until Watts decided to fly to New York City to be with Schreiber. The rest, said Watts, is history.
