Google has already lined up a range of hardware devices for its October 4th Launchpad event. But what seems making more sound among the tech lovers is an expected announcement of a software rather than those devices.

The software which has been rumoured about for about a whole long year now. The merger of Android and Chrome OS which is internally called in Google as Andromeda.

Among the speculations about the announcement of this tremendous and innovative operating system to be made by Google in this upcoming event. The recent news that has also made a great impact among the tech lover is that Google is testing its new module called Andromeda in HTC Nexus 9.

According to an unidentified source's statement, a number of users have been running early builds of an Android/Chrome OS hybrid, known as Andromeda, on the HTC Nexus 9. Also, Google has been testing their new baby OS internally.

According to reports by 9to5Google, an evidence of this has been found on an  Android 7.0 Nougat AOSP file, which is  labelled as "SurfaceCompositionTest.java".which appears to be some kind low-level test to assess and measure graphics performance.

The test directly refers to 'Andromeda' for multiple times and specifically mentions that "Andromeda devices require higher performance score." It also suggests that a minimum graphics score of 8.0 is needed to run the OS.While, in comparison to that, the Nexus 9 scores  8.8.

The evidence suggests an either way explanations for Andromeda's implementation. Google would debut its new and innovative operating system on HTC Nexus 9, a device which came in existence apparently 2 years ago.

It is also possible that this tablet may be used for testing due to its powerful attribution of Tegra K1 processor, with Denver CPU cores and Kepler DX1 GPU. The intriguing fact that this code appears in the general ASOP directory also suggests that the projection of Andromeda could be meant for a wider range of devices.

According to Android Authority, a second instance also hints to the free form window management feature that is hidden away inside Android Nougat. This attribute may also make its official inception with Andromeda.

The source code also recommends that this code is not meant for a small feature insertion. Rather, it needs a total reconstruction of the system image. The indication of which is hidden inside that part of ASOP page which refers to the statement, "Flushed Nexus 9 device using volantis and volantis-andromeda images."

No matter the speculations and rumors and leaks have revealed since the last year, less is known about Andromeda, Reports have previously indicated the release of this superlative Operating system in next year.

But if Hiroshi Lockheimer's latest Tweet contains some measures to focus on, then, users can expect a grand announcement about this software on this upcoming October 4th event only.
