Gwen Stefani is turning 47 next Monday, and according to reports, she's hoping for a very special present from boyfriend Blake Shelton.

According to Hollywood Life, Stefani is hoping he'll propose to her on her birthday Oct. 3, and that she and Shelton do have some big plans for the special day.

"They both are going to take a few days off to spend some quality time together," a source told the website. "She is definitely expecting and hoping for a ring, and can't wait to celebrate her birthday with Blake and her kids."

As for Shelton and whether he would consider proposing, the source wasn't sure if it would occur on Stefani's birthday, but not because he doesn't want to marry her. In fact, the source maintains Shelton knows he wants to, but he wants to keep his plans close to his chest for now to maximize the surprise.

"Gwen and Blake are still going strong, He wants to marry Gwen, but has not told anyone his ideas or timing for popping the question. He is keeping that very close to his chest."

Stefani and Shelton went public with their romance last November, after rumors began swirling around them when they both returned to the set of The Voice, after announcing respective divorces from Miranda Lambert (whom Shelton was married to for four years) and Gavin Rossdale (whom Stefani wa married to for thirteen years). Since they went public with their romance, they have consistently been surrounded by rumors about their romance, with reports circulating that they were splitting up, as well as numerous stories about their plans to marry and have children together.

Most recently, they have been surrounded with reports they were planning to marry this Christmas at Shelton's Oklahoma ranch, and while neither one has confirmed the rumors, they also have not addressed them in a denial either.
