Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly back in the negotiation room when it comes to their divorce settlement, after initially stalling things due to the story that led to Pitt being investigated for child abuse.

According to TMZ, both want to get things over with quickly, and have resumed the negotiation process after Pitt ended the initial process when the story he allegedly lunged at son Maddox, 15, while on a family flight from Europe one week before Jolie filed for divorce. Pitt reportedly believed that Jolie's people leaked the story, but after the situation cooled down, the two did restart the process.

The website reports that there are four elements to the settlement discussion, including custody and visitation arrangements for the couple's six children-Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne--, temporary support for Jolie and kids, permanent financial support and the splitting up of their properties. With the exception of whether or not the custody arrangements conform to the Department of Children and Family Services' recommendations, the first two elements are reportedly on their way to resolution, though there hasn't been anything resolved on the splitting up of properties or the permanent financial support.

Custody was expected to be the most contentious issue between the couple, after Jolie initially filed for sole physical custody and asked that Pitt only be granted visitation, while he planned to sue for joint physical custody.

As for the final two elements, they may not take too long for the couple to resolve. In her initial filing, Jolie did not request spousal support, and financial support would likely only pertain to their children.

When it comes to the properties being split up between the two, of the 12 they own, only three are ones that the couple purchased together, with Pitt having owned a bulk of their properties before they got together, and Jolie owning the rest.
