Justin Theroux was not exactly pleased about everyone thirsting over his rather revealing sweatpants scene from The Leftovers.

Photos of Theroux jogging in gray sweatpants surfaced on the internet when production on The Leftovers began, and the famous scene from the HBO drama's first episode was GIFed and can be seen all over the web. While many who gazed upon the scene were happy with what they saw, Theroux was most definitely not.

"It's like having someone yank your shorts down in public. It doesn't feel great," he admitted in a new interview with Elle. "Anyone who has an unflattering picture taken of them would probably say, 'Join the club.'"

While the Elle interviewer noted that it wasn't necessarily unflattering, Theroux replied, "It has the appearance of a compliment, but it's more mortifying than anything else."

Theroux has been very open in criticizing pop culture and media coverage in the past, speaking frankly about the coverage of the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie divorce last week.

"As a child of divorce, all I can say is that's terrible news for those children and that's all you can really say," Theroux told Business Insider Monday. "It's boring to sort of comment on anything else. People are having a bad time. That's horrible. There's an endless appetite for trash, apparently - though everyone would say that they don't have that appetite. But I think a lot of people do because people buy it."

Ultimately, Theroux is hoping the the divorce coverage will subsist soon, so that the world can focus on more important things.

"There are bigger things to b---- about," he said. "It's shocking how much bandwidth things can take up when there are far more important things going on in the world."

The third and final season of The Leftovers is scheduled to premiere in 2017 on HBO.
