Rihanna was booed by angry Boston fans on Monday for keeping them waiting three hours before she started her concert.

Rihanna was originally set to perform at the TD Garden in March. She canceled the appearance, part of her Diamonds World Tour, by claiming she was sick. She had contracted laryngitis and the tour date had to be rescheduled for May 6. However, fans who attended the concert were left waiting for three hours past the start time. There was also no opening act to pass the time.

Rihanna Navy, the affectionate term given to Rihanna's fans, took to Twitter and complained, saying they did not appreciate their time being wasted.

"Boston waited 2 months and then Rihanna was 3 hours late to her packed concert. She deserved to get booed! We were mad as hell," one fan blasted.

Rihanna was reportedly too distracted by the NBA playoffs featuring The Chicago Bulls and The Miami Heat. It was Game 1 of the Eastern conference semi-finals.

"@rihanna 2-3 hrs late for your show in Boston, huh??! #disrespectful #noexcuse basketball was more important huh?? Don't come back," a fan blasted on Twitter.

After the game finished around 9:30 p.m., Rihanna took to the stage. She then addressed her belated performance on Twitter, but made no direct reference to her tardiness or her angered fans. She simply thanked Boston for welcoming her to their city.

'#BOSTON I will never forget this night!!! I truly have deeper love for you now!!! Thank you for making it extra special!! #DWT," the Diamonds singer tweeted.

Rihanna also made references to her recent breakup with Chris Brown on the social media site. She wrote the she would not settle for anything less than 100 percent from a man. She said anything less would not be an option.

In his version of events, Brown claimed that his now ex was simply too young for him to consider settling down with. He wanted to focus on himself without having to be anyone's significant other.

"I'm always gonna love that person. I cant be focused on wife-ing someone that young. I need to be the best Chris Brown I can be," he told The Kyle and Jackie Show on May 5.
