Although the rumor wells have been rather dry lately in terms of the Downton Abbey chatter, executive producer Gareth Neame did elaborate on the now widowed Mary Crawley (Michelle Dockery), and how the death of her husband Matthew will affect her.

E! Online recently sat down with the Neame, who dished on Lady Mary's romantic eligibility moving forward into Season 4.

"Mary is a woman in a state of deep bereavement and there's no way she's looking for anyone else," he said.

While Mary herself may not be close to ready to be courted again, Neame explains that her qualifications and beauty will draw men to her regardless.

"She is, nonetheless, a very beautiful and eligible young woman.  So I have no doubt there's going to be male interest in her."  However, Mary is "definitely not on the look for love," the EP added.

Neame also acknowledged Matthew Crawley's (Dan Stevens) death, and how his passing will impact the upcoming season.

"It clearly will make a huge difference.  But I can assure you that it's given the show a whole new impetus. We've gone off in a whole new direction and it's very exciting to see the whole new season come together."

Downton Abbey is set to premiere Season 4 in the U.S. on Jan. 5, 2014, according to The Huffington Post.
