Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S8 with all its attributes turning to be one of the most-awaited and most speculated release of this South Korean Electronic giant. Not only it is the next-generation flagship smartphone that will represent Samsung's next year's resolution, but it has to prove itself as a remedy to the battery issues reported vastly in Samsung Note 7. So, besides of measures in design, specs, and features, it has to answer the question of dependability and reliability as well.

Speculations and leaks hint for superlative specs like 4K resolution screen, 10nm Snapdragon 820 chips, and many other new features. Samsung is expected to make the change from microUSB to USB-C on its leading smartphone range. This would see the S8 follow the same manner seen in Note 7. Samsung is also reported to follow the footsteps of Apple by removing 3.5mm headphone jack from its upcoming range of gadgets starting with Galaxy S8.

According to a report published by Tech.Mic, a recent press release published by the USB Implementers Forum suggest that the company is planning to part ways from its old technology. The document hints to the Audio Device 3.0 specification for the USB Type-C port, which made its smartphone debut on the Galaxy Note 7 last year. The report further suggests that the announced specification will make it easier to support digital audio over USB while decreasing charge consumption.

The release further briefs that various device and gadget manufacturers can eliminate the need for multiple ports with comprising only a single USB Type-C  connector. This connector can deliver data, power, and other audio/video substances single-handedly. "USB Audio over USB Type-C allows [original equipment manufacturers] to remove the 3.5mm analog audio jack, shaving up to a millimeter off product designs and reducing the number of connectors on a device." the press release adds.

The speculation is booming all around the web and many experts have hinted the same. However, SamMobile has hinted towards the same opinion, by adding that the removal of a 3.5mm headphone jack would make the device slimmer and  handy. This advantage will also increase water resistance of the device.

Samsung has not yet offered any announcement about  whether they are adding this feature their upcoming masterpiece or not. But with the new trend of making devices slimmer and advanced in hardware specifications as its major competitors like Apple are applying on their new flagships, it's expected that Samsung will also not stay behind in this race. However, we have to wait till any official confirmation comes in this regard.
