It appears Kim Kardashian may be in agreement with those critics who claim she brought her horrifying Paris robbery onto herself by flaunting her wealth on social media.

According to People Magazine, sources close to Kardashian say that after five men robbed her in her Paris apartment by tying her up and holding a gun to her head, making off with a jewelry box containing $6.7 million worth of jewelry as well as a $4.5 million diamond ring husband Kanye West gifted her only last month, say that she believes she's to blame for the incident since she has always made a habit of showcasing her wealthy and fabulous life on social media, which she now believes made her a target.

"Kim's in shock and blaming herself," the source said. "She's tearing herself up that she Snapchatted the ring so much and wore it all the time. This incident is making her question everything. How she dresses, what she does."

TMZ seems to also have a source that claims she is reevaluating things because of the situation, and will scale back how much she shared on social media from now on.

Their sources say Kardashian agrees with the critics, and is taking a month off from work as she recovers from the ordeal, and when she finally returns she will be pulling back drastically on social media, with plans to longer display her personal wealth, or be ostentatious with the promotion of her fashion line, which will also be scaled back.

Those sources also claim that Kardashian has truly reevaluated what she had previously placed so much value on in the past as well.

"Material things mean nothing. It's not all about the money. It's not worth it," she has reportedly been saying in private.

The news comes after her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, appeared to finally break her silence on the matter on social media. She was also in Paris with her sister for Fashion Week, though she was with their sister Kendall Jenner and Kim's bodyguard Pascal Duvier at a club at the time of the robbery.

Kourtney posted a photo on Twitter Wednesday featuring quotes which seemed to reflect the more low-key way Kim plans to now lead her life.

"Remember that joy is not dependent on your circumstances. Some of the world's most miserable people are those whose circumstances seem the most enviable. People who reach the top of the ladder career-wise are often surprised to find emptiness awaiting them. True Joy is a by-product of living in My Presence. Therefore you can experience it in palaces, in prisons...anywhere.," the quote reads.
