Pokemon GO has been blessed so far with consistent updates from its developer, Niantic. Last month, the highly popular augmented reality game debuted the Buddy System, which was arguably one of the biggest patches in the game since it was launched a few months ago.

This October, another Pokemon GO update is set to be rolled out by the developer, and despite the upcoming patch seemingly not as significant as the introduction of the Buddy System, it appears to be a welcome addition to the hit mobile title just the same.

In a recent announcement by Niantic, the developer gave its users a sneak peek of an upcoming feature that will be rolled out sometime soon. The new feature grants a catch bonus for players who earn medals in the game.

With this feature, players who earn higher tiers for the Kindler Medal, for example, would enjoy bonuses to catch Fire-type monsters such as Charmander, Ponyta and Vulpix. What is particularly interesting about Niantic's announcement is the developer's statement that the new feature would enable players to catch rare Pokemon more easily.

While the specifics of the update have not been revealed by the developer as of yet, the notion of having a feature that helps users catch rare Pokemon is something that the Pokemon GO community was immediately receptive to. While the update falls a little bit short of the Buddy System's prominence, it does provide an improved in-game experience to its millions of players nonetheless.

One thing that has been quite great with Pokemon GO so far is the fact that some subtle aspects of the game are slowly being revealed to be extremely significant. Medals for capturing certain Pokemon types have long been awarded to players, but the badges have been next to useless until now.

With Niantic giving players a sneak peek to the upcoming update, rumors are high that the new patch would most likely be rolled out within the next few days.
