Brad Pitt is focusing on his career as his highly-publicized divorce from Angelina Jolie plays out.

As he prepares to fight for joint custody of his kids (with his wife requesting full physical custody), a source claims the 52-year-old actor is getting back to work and distracting himself from his tough situation at home.

“Brad has been throwing himself in his work to help keep his mind off his painful family situation. On top of getting love and support from his closest Hollywood pals, Brad has been reading scripts, and taking work meetings to help get his mind of his personal life problems,” a source explained to Hollywood Life on Thursday.

Jolie filed for divorce two weeks ago and requested a judge grant her full custody on grounds that Pitt was suffering from an anger issue, which was often worsened by his alleged use of drugs and alcohol.

“When he is not meeting with lawyers about his divorce from Angelina, Brad has been focusing on film producing and his career which help keep his mind off the challenges he has with his family situation,” the insider continued. “As difficult as it is to do work for him right now, getting some positive stuff done is easier for him than sitting around worrying about Angie and the kids. He is really bummed right now and work has been keeping him occupied.”
