Selena Gomez opened up about her on and off relationship with Justin Bieber, admitting in an interview with InStyle that she could not help herself from falling in love with the 19-year-old singer.

Gomez spoke to the publication before her most recent reunion with Bieber and the photos posted online proving that they have rekindled their romance. The 20-year-old Spring Breakers star said it can be difficult having a high-profile celebrity relationship and talked even about marriage.

"I'm from Texas, so I should be married with children already," she said with a smile. "I'm in love with love and totally believe in marriage, but that's not even on my radar right now. I am not putting energy into dating." 

Gomez said dating the Canadian superstar was "crazy and very intense," but breaking up was even harder.

"It's uncomfortable that everywhere I go, people know," she said. "I don't like that. But Justin and I never really focused on the attention. You can't help who you date. So I wouldn't swear off that or say that's what I want again. I don't know. I'm a kid, and a breakup is normal.

"I have to go through the emotions and feel it out," she added.

When asked what she looks for in a partner, the first thing she said she looks for is honesty. The attribute is especially important in the fast pace, celebrity lifestyle "because of the distance imposed when working-you are separated so often."

"You have to be super-honest and open," the former Disney star said. "That is key." 

Gomez graced the June 2013 issue of InStyle. Aside from talks regarding her love life, she also discussed her new album - which includes a song about Bieber - and what is up next for the singer/actress who is approaching her 21st birthday on July 22.
