Previously Google announced that its new range of smartphones the Pixel and Pixel XL will be equipped with Android 7.1 Nougat. Though they clarified many of the features of its first device, but they didn't focus much light on the much awaited upcoming update of Android in that presentation. Google has now made it clear that tech lovers will be able to see the first instance of Android 7.1 in the later part of this October only.  

Finally, Google made the official revelation of its upcoming masterpiece Android 7.1 on yesterday through its Android developers' blog. "Later this month we'll be bringing you the Android 7.1 platform as an open Developer Preview, similar to what we did for Android 7.0. You'll be able to test and build on the new platform and try the latest features," said Dave Burke, ‎VP Engineering (Android) at Google. Also, according to a report by GSMArena,

Google Android team has also published a list of probable devices which will get this new version of Android. The report further briefed that some older versions of Nexus smartphones, for which support may have already been closed, could be attributed to this high-level operating system.

Introducing Android 7.1, android developers' blog clarified that it's a developmental increment based on Android 7.0, but it includes a vast number of newly designed features and specs for consumers and developers - from platform Daydream VR support and A/B system updates to enormous app shortcuts and image keyboard support. The primary release of Android 7.1 will be targeted for the developers. Although likewise its previous beta release of 7.0, Google will offer the 7.1 beta as over-the-air installs for everyone, as hinted by TechCrunch.

The enlisted devices which will be able to avail this amazing update are Motorola Nexus 6, HTC Nexus 9, Huawei Nexus 6P, LG Nexus 5X, Pixel C, Asus Nexus Player, as well as gadgets supported with Android One.
